When Should You Wash Your Sheets?

Sometimes the "smell test" isn’t always a good indicator of when something needs to be washed  and by “isn’t always”….we mean never.

If you think about how much you and your family sleep on bed sheets in a given week, it can be alarming to think that you might wash them only once a month. That’s an estimated 224 hours spent on your sheets before they’re cleaned!

In the height of cold and flu season, it’s important to wash your sheets once a week. Germs spread fast so don’t let one sick family member get the whole family sick.

When washing sheets, it’s important to remember not to jam everyone’s sheets into one load. Sheets need room to get get clean and putting too many sheets in the washer is ineffective for eliminating dust mites, allergens, and germs.

A good rule of thumb is to always aim to wash your sheets once a week. Sweat, dirt, and dry skin build up on your sheets faster than you can notice just by looking. Plus, nothing beats getting into a nice, comfortable bed after a long day  especially when you know how clean it is.
